I recently flew into Sydney to help celebrate my beautiful sister Meredith’s Hens Party.

We kicked off the festivities at The Star Casino’s Sky Terrace rooftop bar.

Even though most of us reside in Sydney, none of us had visited Sky Terrace, so we were excited to try a new drinking spot with such ambience.

Sipping on chilled champagne we enjoyed expansive million dollar views of the Harbour and city skyline, whilst catching up and discussing all things ‘Wedding.’

The stunning blue sky was captivating and the temperature was just right to sit and relax before moving on to the next stage of the night.

From admiring Sydney’s skyline, we then moved to a little piece of Europe on famous Oxford Street.

Upon arrival we were instantly welcomed to the world of Slide. This lounge is home to El Circo, a caberet show that would provide us with ample entertainment throughout the night.

El Circo was captivating from start to finish and the plethora of circus, cabaret and burlesque acts made you feel like you were in Paris or Berlin.

The meal also exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a 9 course degustation whilst admiring 9 live acts.

The theme of the degustation was ‘Detox’ which meant it catered to all dietary requirements – vegans, dairy free, gluten free.

Before you instantly screw up your face (if you’re anything like me!) at the idea of such a restrictive menu, the food was actually amazing!

My favourite dishes were the slow cooked confied Atlantic Salmon with kale chips, zucchini spaghetti, roasted fennel and heirloom tomato and the delicious dessert consisting of avocado and banana chocolate mousse, coconut chantilly, crepe suzette, fig truffle and raspberry sorbet.

There were also fun courses like the calorie free intermission which resulted in us sniffing the divine essence of buttery popcorn from a balloon (plus a fancy little box full of the real stuff).

Then a course where we had to eat with a latex gloved hand, Farinata, sunken tomatoes, super green pesto, kalamata tapenade.

After the degustation had come to a close, the cute little Hen reluctantly took the stage to dance with the other Hen’s.

We all quickly followed and danced the night away along Oxford Street!
