Got Your Back Sista

Far out, I can’t believe it’s Friday already!

Where are the days going? Is it just me, or do you feel the same?

Anyway, I am SUPER EXCITED that it’s Friday AND it’s #gotyourbacksista day!

#gotyourbacksista

I have so many amazing women in my life and I know how blessed I am.

That’s why I jumped at the chance to support the brilliant initiative of #gotyourbacksista Day, organised by my gorgeous friend Melissa Histon of The Sista Code.

The Sista Code is all about supporting and uplifting other women. As females we have the tendency to compete with our fellow sistas rather than collaborate.

#gotyourbacksista Day is an opportunity to share the love and to literally show another woman that you’ve ‘got her back.’

All you have to do is consciously reach out to another woman and make her day!

It’s simple and SO POWERFUL!

One of the ways I wanted to pay kindness and love forward was to take my lovely friend Liz out for a delicious lunch.

Liz is beautiful inside and out and she has been ridiculously kind to me since arriving in Hong Kong.

I know that if I’m ever stuck I can ask Liz for support and she will be there!

We usually see each other multiple times a week – mainly because we have similar interests and we’re on the Social Committee of the Australian Association together. Plus, we both reminisce about Sydney and how we miss the ease of shopping at a Westfield….amongst other things!

We hit it off right from the start (I literally bolded her over at the Australian Association Christmas Party and begged her to be my friend)….slight exaggeration, but kinda true!

Liz literally makes my life here in Hong Kong brighter, so I believe a lunch at Aberdeen Street Social and a card with some heartfelt words is just a small gesture of my gratitude.

So what can you do today to show a special Sista in your life that you appreciate her and that you have her back?

Rooftop Shenanigans + Chilled Champagne

Another Sista who I love is Camie…and she is always up for anything! (Camie seems to be a regular on my blog. She has been featured here and here).

I wanted to do something different this week so I decided to hit up Azure’s Rooftop Cinema by Moet and Chandon on Monday night. Despite Camie’s severe jet lag she agreed to drink champagne with me….such a great friend!

Just so you know, my photos aren’t the greatest as I forgot my memory card (it was still stuck in my Mac) so the iPhone had to step up!

Azure was screening the TV show “Jo,” which is apparently the French’s version of ‘Law and Order.’

However Camie and I wouldn’t know…

We were happy sipping champas and chatting whilst our faces became even shinier thanks to the rising humidity!

Oh the glamour!

So that’s a snapshot of my week in pictures!

I hope that you help a Sista out today (and every day really)!
